SUSAN NEW YORK DEBUTED “SEASONLESS COLLECTION #2: DIFFICULT WOMEN”

AT VANCOUVER FASHION WEEK ON SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2018.

We are trying to do right by mother earth and still have something new to wear.

We all know the answer is don't buy anything anymore.

But since that's hard to do, we make clothes you don't have to feel bad about.

Materials

We aim to use mostly deadstock fabrics, discarded leftovers from other designers' previous seasons that pile up in warehouses, instead of have textile mills across the globe continue to consume large amounts of land, water resources, and energy to create new fabrics, often expelling chemical waste in the process.  The small number of new fabrics used by Susan are from stock companies, and are often hand dyed with natural indigo in small batches.  However we aim to be 100% deadstock by our next collection.  And because of the limited quantity inherent of deadstock fabric, only small quantities of each style are made ( not more than 12!), which cuts down on waste and makes each style "limited edition."

Development and Production

All development and production is done in Manhattan's beloved Garment District, (which cuts out a lot of pollution from traveling and shipping).  It's close location allows consistent designer participation to assure the fairest practices and closer relationships.

Design

This brand was born out of love and compassion for modern women, and the desire to aid their upward journey with clothes that suit their dynamic lives and provide comfort for their arduous climb.  The clothes are made from breatheable natural materials, and the shapes are simple  but voluminous for ease and luxury.
